We are looking to employ a Sport Attendant who is highly enthusiastic and is customer focused to join the team at Access EA, Edinburgh Academy Trading Company Limited. This is a varied role, and you will be required to deliver a high quality and excellent customer experience for all users.
You will possess an ability to work on your own initiative and have a commitment to working within a team. Your main duties include setting up and down sports and class equipment and working on reception using a leisure management booking system, dealing with day-to-day enquiries and bookings as well as the operation of pitches and facilities at New Field Playing Fields.
As part of the team, you will help ensure a safe, secure, and clean environment for the users. The hours will be based on a rota, which will include working evenings and some weekends and will be line managed by the Sports Hub Manager. A degree of flexibility is required in this role however we anticipate that postholders will be contracted for a minimum of 18 hours per week. Seasonal hours will be made available for sports coaching during School holidays and assisting with the running of our holiday camps.
The role will involve communicating with multiple stakeholders both internally to the organisation and externally within the local community. Being able to effectively interact with children, adults, parents, teachers, staff, and colleagues is an integral part of the role. The postholder will demonstrate a keen interest in sport and a genuine interest in helping others. While not essential, it would be advantageous if applicants held one or more of the following: Leisure Qualifications: · NPLQ Trainer Assessor · First Aid

Main ResponsibilitiesSports Attendants play a significant role in maintaining a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for customers. The postholder will be involved in all aspects of the activities taking place at the Sports Hub and New Field. Sports Attendants report to the Sports Hub and Camps Manager.
Main Duties:
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance in all areas of the Sports Hub, both inside and outside, carry out cleaning programs for the fitness room and sports equipment, reporting any defects or breakages.
Work at Reception, dealing with telephone calls and emails, and liaising with service users.
Setting up and taking down sports equipment, ensuring that all bookings start and finish on time.
Supervising patrons using the equipment while in the facility including teams, adults, teenagers, and children
Dealing with customer queries in person and over the telephone in a confident and positive manner.
Assisting with any accidents that occur and giving first aid if needed
Overseeing security in changing rooms, tidying, and cleaning all areas
Charging admission, taking bookings, renting out equipment or answering the phone
Opening and closing of New Field pitches and facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for customers
Pitch inspections of New Field pitches ensuring they remain litter free and reporting any defects or breakages
Assisting at unique events and providing help with external events
Any other reasonable duties as may requested by Management
Gym Duties
Patrol the activity areas to ensure all areas conform to the health and safety standards and are therefore safe
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience of working in a school setting, gym, or fitness centre and or customer-facing environment (Essential)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
Ability to adhere to and follow instructions for current industry guidance ensuring Health and Safety standards are met (Essential)
Coaching or fitness qualification (NPLQ Trainer/Assessor) - (Desirable)
First Aid certificate (Desirable)
Organised and punctual (Essential)
Keen interest in sport and fitness (Essential)
