An exciting new opportunity for a  part time Family Support Worker has opened in the Adoption Service based in the Northamptonshire Children’s Trust. 

You will be joining a motivated and highly skilled team who work hard every day to get the best outcomes for children and their families and build on the progress already made in achieving the Ofsted judgement of GOOD in February 2022.

What will you be doing?As a dynamic, passionate Family Support Worker within the Adoption Recruitment, Assessment and Family Finding Team you will support the task of family finding for children with a plan for adoption in the care of the Northamptonshire Children’s Trust. 

Working with the adoption team  you will generate and provide key pieces of digital material (videos, photos and art to create Family Finding profiles.

You will undertake direct work with children and families in the preparation for transitions and  work with multi agency colleagues in arranging Life Appreciation Days.

You will be maintaining accurate records of appointments, contact and case documentation

The role may require some work in the  evenings and weekends to support family finding activities and events, so you will need to be flexible.   

The role will be based in Northampton, but the successful applicant will be required to travel and work in venues across the county and beyond, if required.

This is a part time role working 26 hours per week

About youYou are an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual

 You will need to be self-motivated and have the ability and skills to undertake direct work with children and families and to work with colleagues from other agencies and service.

You are able to work both independently and, as part of a team, and you have experience of working directly with families and children. 

You are a good communicator, able to establish effective collaborative relationships. 

 You demonstrate attention to detail when it comes to maintaining accurate records. 

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check
