Interim Public Sector Associate Director
Location: South West London
Rate: £600 per day Umbrella
This exciting role provides inspirational and operational leadership for a diverse range of essential community services in South West London. As Interim Public Sector Associate Director, you will oversee Culture and Heritage, Customer Fulfilment and Experience, Neighbourhood and Community Involvement, and Community Safety Services, ensuring positive and impactful outcomes for residents. Your responsibilities will include leading key partnerships and managing major contracts, such as those with the Council's Voluntary Action, Citizens Advice, and Groundworks. You will play a central role in overseeing Community Grants, commissioning, and the allocation of community resources and funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Drive the delivery of the council’s customer service strategy, including implementing the Customer Improvement Strategy and managing the contact centre and fulfilment strategy.
- Community Engagement: Oversee the council’s role in partnerships, such as the Strengthening Communities Partnership, and lead on action plan development for cross-borough collaboration.
- Early Help & Prevention: Lead the council's early help approach, including the development and implementation of the social value strategy.
- Community Safety: Ensure community safety services meet statutory and community needs, delivering priority outcomes.
- Event Support: Contribute to the council’s cultural landscape by supporting the their 2025 programme and the borough’s Cultural Strategy.
Delivery & Impact
- Contract Management: Oversee commissioning, contract management, and service delivery within the role’s remit, ensuring effective use of resources and community impact.
- Social Impact & Inclusion: Lead initiatives for social cohesion, inclusion, and diversity, supporting Kingston’s Strengthening Communities Strategy.
- Customer Service Transformation: Implement the Customer Service Improvement strategy, enhancing how the council connects and engages with customers and communities.
- Cultural & Heritage Development: Promote and maximise the borough’s cultural heritage, enhancing Kingston’s profile as a vibrant, inclusive community.
- Commercial Strategy: Drive innovative, sustainable service delivery models, and manage resources to meet budgetary goals, promoting efficiency and independence within the community.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Demonstrated leadership in public sector community engagement, customer service transformation, and contract management.
- Proven experience in partnership development with voluntary and community sector organisations.
- Strong financial and strategic planning skills, with the ability to manage large-scale budgets and deliver impactful community services.
