An opportunity is available for a Head of DSO Operations based at Avonbank or Pegasus.
In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Network Operations DSO role, focusing on optimizing the network as built for security of supply, network access, and system risk. You will develop the long-term strategy for DSO Network Operations while ensuring effective and transparent day-to-day decision-making.
You will lead and develop an emerging team, establishing robust processes and systems for scalable decision-making. You will build and deepen relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including DSO teams, Control, Connections, Flexibility Service Providers, and operators of distributed generation. Reporting to the Director of DSO, you will also be a part of the DSO Senior Leadership Team.

Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the delivery of the Networks Operations DSO role, including the delivery of the Ofgem baseline requirements and their reporting as part of the ED2 price control and DSO incentive.
You will lead your team, including the energy management centre, to deliver key outcomes to time and budget.
Support the development of defined policy for security of supply in operational time frames
Ensure the efficient and transparent dispatch of flexibility services
Management, and cost-effective optimisation of operational curtailment on the system
Describing the DSO's approach to improving network visibility
The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for an individual with expertise and experience in quantifying and managing risk across technical and/or commercial matters. Your strong background in risk management will enable you to support effective decision-making. You should have confidence in managing a technical team and providing direction and focus.
Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders are essential for this role. You should have experience working collaboratively across teams. Successful candidates will demonstrate a good understanding of the end consumer's benefit, how to achieve it, and how to engage with the wider industry to ensure incentivisation.
