This role will also involve leading the PSHE curriculum across the school, including teaching both secondary students and those in the transition department. The successful candidate will be responsible for upholding high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement in PSHE throughout the institution.To provide a high standard of professional support to each learner within the school environment with assistance from the teaching assistant and other specialist support staff. To ensure that each learner is offered curriculum relevant to their stage, age and ability by assessing each individual in line with Doucecroft School’s assessment procedures.Delivering all areas of the curriculum as required and overseeing the education and welfare of the student learners including evaluating their progress and keeping relevant records. Plan lessons and timetables and meeting regularly with your team as required enabling them to support you day to day.Location: Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester, CO6Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)Hours:Hours as requires, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per annum plus training daysContract Type: Fixed term contract (1 year maternity cover)The role:To ensure each learner is offered a curriculum relevant to their stage of development, age and ability and in line with the school’s curriculum policyTo assess each learner using agreed assessment procedures and ensure SMART targets are set and evaluatedTo plan Individual Education Programmes for each student learner within the school’s agreed curriculumTo ensure Individual Education Programmes, student support plans and Risk Assessments are implemented and updated in line with school policyTo provide appropriately differentiated learning experiences that meet the needs of all your learnersTo ensure ongoing assessment of the learners achievements and abilities, supporting this with robust and comprehensive record keeping.Lead the class team, providing them with a positive role model and appropriate guidance to ensure that they support the delivery of high quality learning experiences for the learners. To be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and management of the classroom (which includes the student learners, the staff and the physical environment).
