An opportunity is available for a Property Project Manager to provide a professional service in relation to the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of a range of multi-million pound property projects within National Grid Electricity Distribution.

We can be flexible on location but preferably the role will be based in Bristol, Gloucester, Worcester or Exeter.  

The role offers a mix of site, office and some home working. But as part of the role, you must be prepared to travel regularly throughout the licence areas of West Midlands, East Midlands, South West and Wales.

Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Property Project Manager you’ll manage the end-to-end delivery of a range of non-operational projects (including new-build, maintenance and repair works) across National Grid Electricity Distribution’s property portfolio, ensuring that projects are delivered to time, cost and an appropriate standard of construction.

Reporting to the Property Manager you’ll regular liaise with client teams and leaders, providing advice on property projects and identify opportunities for improving efficiency and productivity. You’ll also help to develop property knowledge and skills across the business whilst contributing to the development and implementation of new property policy.
The Ideal Candidate
Proven practical/professional project management experience and understanding of Project Management processes and methodology, experience of delivery, project cost estimates and budget preparation.
Minimum HNC/HND in a building, electrical or mechanical discipline.
Preference to be affiliated to a professional institution, e.g. APM, RICS, CIOB, CIBSE.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, building system and minor civil works for new build and refurbishment, fit-outs and infrastructure projects and an understanding of sustainability assessments and carbon reduction methods in building design.
Experience of working with JCT form of contracts and knowledge and experience of the construction industry, technical, risk and procurement techniques including contract management and CDM Regulations.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and regulations. including the Building Safety Act 2022 and client responsibilities.
Strong oral and written communication and proficient negotiating and influencing skills.
Competent IT skills.
A pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.
Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure, make decisions and meet tight deadlines.
Strong team working skills.
Understanding of external organisations and associated regulations.
A full driving licence.


Evidence of essential qualifications will be required prior to appointment

National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers. This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
