What is the job role?We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Parenting Lead to work within the Early Help service area as part of the Family Hub delivery model. . This service supports children 0 – 19 years and their families in need of additional support through the provision of Early Help. The Parenting offer is a fundamental source of support to families in need of advice and guidance in implementing effective parenting strategies.

As Parenting Lead you have the opportunity to plan, deliver and evaluate the parenting support offer across the city in line with the requirements within the Family Hub Framework. You will be involved in supporting parents of Coventry by providing advice and guidance in relation to ensuring the parenting intervention provided best meets the needs of families.

You should have a sound knowledge of evidenced based parenting programmes and an understanding of children and young people’s development. A knowledge of current safeguarding procedures is required with the ability of applying this in your practice

The work includes the coordination and delivery of Coventry’s parenting offer working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to ensure a flexible parenting offer is available to parents across the city.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Delivering evidence-based parenting programmes
Working with children and families
Working in partnership with agencies and services ensuring a joined-up approach to service delivery for children and families
Coordination of peer support processes for practitioners working with families
