The ethos of our work is based on the following Autism Anglia Values• The people we support are at the centre of everything we do.• We enhance the lives of autistic people• We have trust & integrity• We work positively together• We celebrate diversity & inclusion• We treat people with dignity & respectAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team as Movement and Wellbeing Instructor at our Jigsaw Center.Job Title: Movement and Wellbeing InstructorReports to: Deputy Manager/ManagerHours of Work: Monday to Friday 35 Hours a WeekPlace of work: Jigsaw CenterThe Role:Based at our Jigsaw Centre in Colchester, Essex, supporting and teaching our day students with sensory and wellbeing activities appropriate to their individual needs in a one to one or small group environment. Offering opportunities to learn and develop confidence and independence through a variety of sensory activities, also to encourage a positive approach to health, fitness and general wellbeing.Assisting with the day to day running of the Movement and Wellbeing Department and other departments as required.Encouraging and assisting the people we support to use the department's equipment and resources and to be involved in other activities such as team games and community activities, music-based activities and general wellbeing.Planning a varied timetable of activities both in the Jigsaw Centre and out in the community to meet the needs of the students and their learning.Creative thinking and new ideas to encourage and motivate students to achieve their goals in line with their learning and activity plan.Planning and thinking ahead about new activities to keep the department refreshed and the students interested.Working in conjunction with student's key workers and families to plan activitiesbased on their changing individual needs.Preparing teaching materials, individuals communication aids and planning sessions.Promoting and sustaining contacts with the local community.Ensuring that each student's work is monitored and is evaluated on an ongoing basis.Applications are welcome from applicants who:Minimum GCSE level including English and Maths.Experience with individuals with ASD or Learning Difficulties would be highly beneficial.Qualification in physical fitness and wellbeing or a keen working interest.PTLLS qualification or similar teaching qualification highly desirable.To Apply:If you have a genuine passion for supporting and uplifting others, your outstanding future at Autism Anglia could be moments away.
