Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with a international leader in the nuclear energy industry to recruit Mechanical Technicians/Fitters for its Cranfield site.
The critical Mechanical Fitters role comes with a salary up to �40,000, enhanced pension and private health care.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Engineering Production Manager you will:
* Be responsible for the building of test rigs, assisting the project team in technical queries and problem solving.
* Utilise engineering diagrams to identify and plan build works.
* Support with bid preparation by sharing relevant information with engineering team.
* Providing machining, and engineering fitting services to areas within the business.
* Support the wider team in general maintenance and required works
* Share ideas for continuous improvement across the business.
* Support and mentor junior members of the team in their development.
* Any other duties as required
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* A Mechanical fitting, machining or fabrication apprenticeship or equivalent
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance or production role.
* Additional training in safety, forklift truck, rigging or enclosed spaces would be advantageous
Personal skills
The Mechanical Fitter role would suit someone who is:
* Experienced in fitting mechanical components
* Computer literate
* Has good communication and contributes to team goals
