Are you ready for an exciting opportunity in the rail industry? We are looking for skilled and enthusiastic individuals to join a busy rail company in the Train Care team. As a Mechanical Fitter / Multiskilled Rail Operative , you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the interiors of an operational train fleet are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring both functionality and appearance.
What You'll Do:
* Perform routine checks and repairs on train interiors, including seating, windows, table trays, toilets, hand dryers, baby change areas, and more.
* Conduct quality inspections, basic mechanical fitting, general maintenance, and graffiti removal, ensuring all fixtures are presentable and safe.
* Manage inventory levels for tools and materials, reporting any shortages.
* Act as the first responder for faults or damages, carrying out repairs and ensuring all tasks meet high safety and quality standards.
* Maintain accurate records of all work completed and uphold health and safety regulations at all times.
* Receive full training and competency assessments to excel in your role.

Key Requirements:
* Competency in basic mechanical fitting tasks.
* Experience in the rail sector is advantageous, though candidates from other trades, engineering, production, or facilities maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
* Ability to work to high safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
* Team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
* A valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification is highly desirable, though training can be provided for the right candidate.
Please note that successful applicants will need to pass a drug and alcohol test and comply with ongoing random testing policies due to the nature of the work environment.
