Do you want to work for a multi-award-winning organisation, helping some of society’s most vulnerable people live meaningful lives? We are looking for a Senior Specialist Physiotherapist working in a vibrant community, providing Physiotherapy support to older people and people with dementia.

You will be active member of the clinical multi-disciplinary team within the home, providing Physiotherapy services to the residents and championing good manual handling practice within the service.

This post is working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role will involve multi site working across our nursing homes in London,  Stanmore, Friern Barnet, Ilford.  

What you'll be doing:


Developing the Physiotherapy service in the centre in conjunction with the Registered Manager and Service Manager, establishing a treatment area, exercise area.
Completing initial assessments of referred residents who have been identified as having complex needs and provide short term treatment, accordingly, following the home’s protocols and multi-disciplinary team’s identified priorities.
Responding to referrals from the MDT within a given time.
Providing a wide variety of Physiotherapy treatment options and interventions to residents including falls prevention advice, splinting, manual therapy, pain management where appropriate, and signpost to other private and statutory physiotherapy as necessary.
Implementing and supervising individual and group exercise programmes to maintain function and rehabilitate where applicable, working with the Living well Team, volunteers, and care workers.
Maintaining and improving the balance, transferring ability and mobility of residents providing / recommending walking aids or bed mobility aids / devices as appropriate.
Maintaining records in line with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy standards and Jewish Care policies.
Documenting Physiotherapy treatments, advice and plans in residents notes and care plans on the floors and maintain notes in physiotherapy areas.
Liaising with appropriate members of staff regarding the progress of residents to optimise the outcome for everyone. This may include family and written reports to external bodies.
Attend and give feedback to multi-disciplinary meetings.
Take part in moving and handling training to care staff, including those on induction, and deliver staff training sessions on how to assist residents with walking and sit to stand transfers.
Assisting with the co-ordinating and follow ups of falls audits and, working with the Registered Manager and others, on the reporting of incidents for Clinical Governance Committee.


What you'll need:


A professional qualification in Physiotherapy
Be a practising member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Significant experience of working in a hospital, or community setting
Significant experience of working with adults with neurological impairments
