We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy east midlands Community Protection Service. As a qualified Trading Standards Officer, you will contribute to the effective delivery of Trading Standards services to all customers by carrying out the full range of operational Trading Standards activities to protect public health and safety, prevent illegal trading practices and promote consumer protection.
You will be responsible for exercising powers and discharging duties effectively to ensure that service delivery meets relevant local and national standards, with priority focus being given to statutory responsibilities and service priorities based upon direction from national regulators. In addition, you will work to continuously improve service delivery and performance of the Trading Standards team, keeping up to date with the latest legislative and technical developments in the Trading Standards field, liaising with a range of key stakeholders to maximise the effectiveness of programmes of enforcement work, and contributing to the development of continually improving services through input to the service planning process.

You must be a qualified Trading Standards Officer holding the Diploma in Trading Standards (DTS) or equivalent and possess a full current driving licence.
