As a Maintenance Engineer/ Improver, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities. You will use tools like a band saw or grinder for metal cutting, interpret drawings to guide fabrication, and perform marking out and drilling tasks. Your duties will also include welding (if qualified), carrying out machine maintenance under supervision, and conducting site measurements. Additionally, you'll assist other engineers as needed, handle various painting tasks in small quantities, ensure work areas are kept clean, and occasionally engage in confined space work.
The job role covers a vast variety of duties, ranging from ensuring work permits are submitted to the various project engineers and signed.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 17:00 pm and very occasional overtime and weekend work.
Maintenance Engineer/Improver Requirements:
* Always ensuring strict health and safety precautions are followed.
* Some experience in pipe fitting, Mig or Arc welding experience would be an advantage. But training to learn these skills could be given.
* Must be able to work in a confined space, Specialist training course with a Certificate in working in a confined space would have to be completed.
We are looking for a competent and enthusiastic mechanical engineer who has a desire to continue learning and developing new skills in this industry, someone who enjoys doing a variety of different aspects of engineering and has experience in working within an industrial factory environment. A good knowledge of general mechanical engineering, engineering maintenance skills, and be able to measure accurately.
We would particularly like to hear from candidates who are hardworking and not afraid to get dirty. Must be reliable and conscious and have excellent communication skills in spoken and written English language and be able to clearly follow instructions, think ahead and work on their own Initiative.
Maintenance Engineer/Improver Benefits:
* �35,000 to �42,000 Subject to experience and qualifications
