Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with an independent civil and structural engineering consultancy working primarily in the nuclear sector to recruit a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer for its Whitehaven, Cumbria site.
The Senior Civil and Structural Engineer role comes with a salary up to �55,000, enhanced pension and flexible working.

Responsibilities and duties
As the Senior Civil and Structural Engineer you will:
� Be responsible for a variety of project detailed and construction designs.
� Carry out assessment on concrete and steel structures.
� Prepare scopes of work, technical reports and calculations
� Have experience using software such as STAAD or TEDDS for analysis and design purposes.
� Produce material specifications, basis of design and hand calculations where necessary.
� Any other duties as required.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
� A degree level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
� A background in Engineering design within an industrial environment
� Experience in the design AND assessment of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork.

� Able to communicate with others to resolve issues and effectively discuss project requirements.
